The sharply-attired and charismatic Zac Eden is actually a closet Neo-Hippie songwriter from the Adelaide suburbs, born of vegetarian conservationists. His organic approach to life saw him refuse to wear shoes amid other feral behaviours. So it will come as no surprise that he once preferred the company of animals to humans. And he’s still pointing out the elephants in the room.
Zac’s dry, off-the-cuff wit is featured on his eponymous debut offering at The Jade on FRI OCT 27th. His highly-accomplished 5-piece backing band will create diverse textures and soundscapes behind Eden’s tight, quirky, pop sensibilities. Throw in a swag of intelligent lyrics delivered in both a satirical and genuine manner, some stage banter, a sense of common-ground plus some verdant stage settings and this event is going to make any musician green with envy.
Eden's musings reflect the quasi-storytelling folk styles of Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Lana Del Ray and Father John Misty. He has headed-up of a variety of music projects which have performed to hundreds during the Adelaide Fringe Festival, was recently a grand finalist in SA’s Festival Of Original Music (SCALA), was handpicked to perform at Rip It Up Magazine's 25th birthday party and has played alongside notable Australian bands including Bad Dreems, Sticky Fingers, Chela, Jeremy Neale and Rainy Day Women.
